But a diet rich in whole grains will protect against liver cancer. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids can protect against cancerous tumors, as well as stop their growth and spread. The fact is that when omega-3 fatty acids are metabolized in the body, the edocannabinoid epoxides EDP-EA are formed, whose molecules, as it turned out, destroy cancer cells. Also, these substances slow down the formation of new blood vessels associated with malignant tissues and inhibit the movement of cancer cells. This means that the effectiveness of chemotherapy will increase if you put patients on a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids.
Vegetables good for health
Some cancer drugs work better if people with cancer eat a low-carb diet (the keto diet), where most of the calories and nutrients are derived from fats and proteins. There is evidence that such a diet is good for muscles and brain, and lowers blood sugar levels.
Much research has been done on this in the past few decades. With all the proven pollutants on the one hand and the various possible protective and vital substances on the other hand, scientists today come to the conclusion: A varied diet rich in plant-based foods is best suited to lower the risk of cancer. We now also know that it is not just what you eat that counts: the energy balance and body weight also play a major role. Therefore, a healthy diet that protects against cancer cannot be separated from physical activity.
